The yacht Ivy arrives at Brass. Acting Consul General Phillip’s main objective of stopping here is to land some troops who will be leaving the very next day on another military mission to a different part of the protectorate. This is the second detachment in two days that Mr. Phillips is sending off on a military mission to parts of the protectorate.
Captain Maling and Dr. D’Arcy come aboard the yacht Ivy. Dr. D’Arcy is on his way home to England on leave. He will travel with them as far as Sapele, which they will reach in four days’ time.
